Algae Control
One of the most common problems in swimming pools is the growth of algae which creates a high demand for chlorine and creates a cascade of other problems in the water.
The best way to avoid algae problems is to use an algaecide. Chlorine is a weak algaecide and high levels of chlorine are needed to kill algae. Large doses of chlorine make the pool unusable and require a waiting period before returning to the water.
Pure and Simple will maintain a safe level of natural algaecide in the water which prevents algae from forming and growing.

What does it mean to shock a pool and why do it? Shocking a pool used to mean adding huge doses of chlorine to the water in an effort to clear the water or to kill algae. It was a way to “super oxidize” the water and regain control of the pool when it had gotten cloudy or green.
Until now, shocking your pool with chlorine was a drastic and unpleasant way to burn off excess bacteria, algae and other contaminants in the water to keep water clean and clear.

Shock Without Chlorine
Cloudy water can happen when too many chemicals or too few chemicals are used.
Too many chemicals and the water clouds up from too many particles. Too few chemicals and contaminants are too numerous to oxidize and the water starts to turn cloudy.
